Job Summary - Manages ammonia system for reliable, safe, and sustainable operation. Integrates all system data and information to direct maintenance, prioritize equipment needs, communicate conditions, and assess system conditions. Responsible for Risk Management Plan (RMP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs for compliance with EPA and OSHA guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Carries out management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, and developing partners; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining partners; scheduling, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Works in conjunction with upper management to determine pay; and budget for the department.
- Directly supervises at least two or more full-time employees.
- Responsible for the general workflow to ensure accurate and timely inspections of ammonia and refrigeration maintenance.
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices and technology updates for IIAR, RETA, ASHRAE, ANSI, and RAGAGEP.
- Manage, oversee, and performs quality assurance checks for ongoing ammonia and refrigeration maintenance and special projects.
- Responsible for planning and maintaining operating and capital budgets for refrigeration, compliance, and Ice Cream, Dairy, and Water plant operations.
- Facilitates emergency repairs and service restoration as needed. • Participates in supplier business reviews. Communicates with upper management and suppliers regarding performance related to plant goals.
- Oversees and/or makes weekly production schedules and monitors the efficiency of all manufacturing plants.
- Monitors and reviews quality control testing results from the lab.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to identify Root Cause Analysis and implement predictive maintenance on equipment. • Ability to execute all regulatory codes and standards. • Ability to use knives/box cutters. • Ability to operate heavy machinery/ hazardous equipment. • Ability to operate a forklift/pallet jack. • Ability to use precision hand tools. • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes. • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form. • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. • Ability to comprehend and interpret information. • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems. • Ability to show information in the presentation or diagram form. • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information. • Ability to lead and motivate others. • Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. •
Education, Experience, and Qualifications • High school Diploma or GED required. • Associate’s degree preferred. • Seven or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required. • RETA CARO & CIRO Certification required. • HAZWOPPER Certification preferred. • OSHA Certification preferred.
