Yaskawa is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to oversee and administer the leave of absence process including leaves falling under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), workers compensation, state and local statutory leaves, and short-term or long-term disability plans. Additionally, the Human Resources Specialist will assist the Human Resources Business Partners with recruitment, associate relations and other activities and projects as assigned.
More specifically, The Human Resources Specialist will:
- Communicate with Associates regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that Associates are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
- In concert with Yaskawa vendors, manages the leave and/or workers compensation administration process from the Associate initial notice of the need for leave through their return to work.
- Advises managers and Associates on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Advises payroll of paid leave and administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
- Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
- Process annual compliance reports such as OSHA, EEO,VETS and California Pay Data
- Codes and processes HR department invoices.
- Coordinate and process service awards, corporate donation requests, author's guild awards
- Update and manage HR portal content
- Assists Human Resources Business Partners with projects, recruiting, or events as necessary.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or other concentration preferred combined with 1-4 years of HR experience. The ideal candidate will have UKG or other HCM system experience as well as knowledge of federal, state and local leave laws.
This is a hybrid role working 2-3 days per week in our Waukegan Headquarters or our Oak Creek Manufacturing with 2 days working remotely.
