Description
We are looking for someone who uses fundamental engineering concepts and Lean manufacturing techniques to analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities, and/or implement technology systems that promote cost reduction and operating efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates current manufacturing processes and prescribe improvements
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and layout
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
- Develops and directs Lean initiatives utilizing 5S, SMED, Kanban and other Lean tools to maximize production processes
- Develops and maintains the necessary supporting data for our manufacturing/shop floor control systems
- Creates and maintains process documentation, operator instructions and standardized work instructions for equipment and processes
- Assists in the training and education of operators to work instructions and processes
Requirements
- Must be able to work with design engineers on DFM.
- Believes in the fundamentals of a team and understands the value.
- Understands the latest tools in the “Lean Toolbox” and has applied them.
- Has a profound understanding of Root Cause Analysis and its importance.
- Designed variations fixtures & jigs in a manufacturing / production environment, with the understanding that these items must be tracked and validated.
- Strong computer skills.
- Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
