Description

We are looking for someone who uses fundamental engineering concepts and Lean manufacturing techniques to analyze operational data/methods, identify performance improvement opportunities, and/or implement technology systems that promote cost reduction and operating efficiency.  

Responsibilities

• Evaluates current manufacturing processes and prescribe improvements
• Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and layout
• Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
• Develops and directs Lean initiatives utilizing 5S, SMED, Kanban and other Lean tools to maximize production processes 
• Develops and maintains the necessary supporting data for our manufacturing/shop floor control systems
• Creates and maintains process documentation, operator instructions and standardized work instructions for equipment and processes 
• Assists in the training and education of operators to work instructions and processes

Requirements

• Must be able to work with design engineers on DFM.
• Believes in the fundamentals of a team and understands the value.
• Understands the latest tools in the “Lean Toolbox” and has applied them.
• Has a profound understanding of Root Cause Analysis and its importance.
• Designed variations fixtures & jigs in a manufacturing / production environment, with the understanding that these items must be tracked and validated. 
• Strong computer skills.
• Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

• Permanent full-time role based in Dixon, IL
• Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
