You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for receiving, processing, and responding to orders and inquiries from customers of all types, including contractors, builders, and wholesale distributors, while working with production, shipping, and other branch departments to coordinate and meet customer needs timely and effectively. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Answer incoming phone calls and provide customers with requested information (pricing, ship dates, freight estimates, etc.) ensuring accuracy and professionalism. Investigate and answer customer inquiries related to the catalog, products, and product use. Provide limited technical assistance to inquiries. (50%)

Input customer orders into order entry computer system. Convert quotes to orders, track shipments, price special orders and initiate Quality Notifications (QN) in the system. Work with other branches to fulfill orders. Act as a liaison between customers and the production and shipping departments to ensure parts are produced and shipped in a timely manner. (50%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Customer focus: Quickly and effectively solve customer problems and maintain productive customer relationships. Readily readjust priorities to respond to pressing and changing customer needs. Recognize potentially adverse customer reactions and develop better alternatives.
  • Speaking and communication: Communicate verbally in an appropriate way for the audience he/she is speaking to. Communicate effectively with co-workers. Listen with full attention to what other people are saying, making sure to understand the needs being expressed, asking questions as appropriate without interrupting at an inappropriate time. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Attention to detail: Monitor and review work for accuracy and completeness. Complete work according to procedures and standards. Maintain an organized workspace and filing system. Understand verbal instructions.
  • Reading and writing: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and construction documents such as building plans. Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Reasoning: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Teamwork: Maintain a collaborative approach in dealing with other Simpson Strong-Tie employees. Demonstrate a genuine commitment to mutually beneficial solutions. Ability to operate in a sales environment.
  • Accountability and dependability: Arrive to work on time and follow instructions, policies, and procedures. Fulfill commitments made to customers, peers, co-workers, and managers. Hold self and others accountable for measureable, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.

PAY

$23.37 - $29.23 / Hour
