Samuel, Son & Co, a leading metals and industrial products company, is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our Frontier Site in Pittsburgh as an Inside Sales Trainee. As an Inside Sales Trainee, you will embark on an exciting journey of learning and development in the field of sales, working closely with our seasoned sales team to gain valuable experience and contribute to our continued success in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn the Business: Gain a deep understanding of Samuel, Son & Co's product offerings, industries served, market positioning, and overall business strategy. Acquire knowledge about metals, industrial products, and the various applications they serve.
- Customer Relations: Support the Inside Sales Representatives in building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers. Assist in responding to customer inquiries, providing product information, and addressing customer needs promptly and professionally.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to prepare and submit sales quotes, proposals, and contracts to customers. Assist in managing sales orders, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify potential business opportunities. Provide insights to the sales team on market developments that could impact the company's sales strategies.
- Product Knowledge: Continuously enhance your knowledge of Samuel, Son & Co's products, their features, benefits, and applications. Be prepared to communicate effectively with customers about our offerings.
- Training and Development: Participate actively in training programs designed to develop sales skills, product knowledge, and business acumen. Take advantage of mentorship opportunities to accelerate your growth.
- Sales Goals: Work towards achieving individual and team sales targets, contributing to the overall success and growth of the Frontier Site.
- CRM Management: Utilize the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to record customer interactions, update customer information, and track sales activities.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues from various departments, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure a seamless customer experience and successful order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing a career in sales and the metals industry.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, actively contributing to collective goals.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience in sales, customer service, or a related field will be an asset (but not required).
