Inventory Analyst

Position Summary:

Performs functions to develop market pricing analysis reports, coordinate pricing strategies in each of our regions and facilitates the procurement of materials and services from approved vendors and coordinates development of strategies for marketing and pricing of new products. 

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

1. Coordinate market pricing reports by region and implement changes to pricing strategy in each region.
2. Update, distribute and maintain the pricing page.
3. Coordinate the entry into new products with sales and purchasing departments.
4. Maintain master list of contractual accounts and pricing programs by region.
5. Work with sales and purchasing to develop strategies to maintain/grow contractual business uniform and competitive pricing.
6. Develop secondary sources of supply where applicable.
7. Investigate new developments in material and supplies to reduce cost and improve quality.
8. Perform competitive analysis regarding competitor’s sources.
9. Stay abreast of current procurement techniques and educate suppliers as well as internal departments to maintain a competitive advantage.
10. Expedite orders as necessary.
11. Maintain lead-term tracking for all products for the company.
12. Work with purchasing department to maintain pricing on obsolete and surplus list
13. Investigate product or service delays and quality issues.
14. Survey current and prospective suppliers per policy.
15. Perform other duties, as necessary.

Preferred Skills:   Bachelor's degree in logistics, business or related field.   At least 5 years’ experience in either sales, purchasing, or inventory management, in the steel industry. Experience using Microsoft Office products, and proficient in Excel.
