ECHO is adding to our IT Department! This position will be based in Lake Zurich, IL but will have some flexibility to work from home a few days a week!
We are seeking our next iSeries Software Developer who will be in charge of analyzing, designing and implementing complex ERP systems and growing list of both on-premises and cloud applications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Management/Business Analysts.
- Work with Project Management/Business Analyst and users to understand requirements and develop a design.
- Develop work plans for design, construction, and implementation phases of application development projects.
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance and system performance.
- Support IBM iSeries and interfaced applications to insure efficient, uninterrupted operation of the system.
- Oversee application troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Application system support includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Infor XA 9.2(MAPICS) and all custom developed enhancements.
- Infor WMS
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- TIBCO Cloud Integration
- Avalara – AvaTax
- TrustedLink - EDI
- Secure FTP.
- Unit and system testing plans.
- Conversion planning.
- User training.
- Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications.
- Mentor team members expressing new technologies, best practices and coding techniques.
- Evaluate new technologies and how to utilize them to make processes more efficient.
Job Experience/Skills:
- This position requires hands on approach to application development.
- The individual must be able to interact as a liaison between the user community and I.T.
- The ability to interpret user requirements and develop highly functioning and efficient software is paramount to the success of I.T.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- Ability to think critically to develop solutions.
- Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- RPG, SQL, FTP coding.
- Exceptional written and communicative skills are a must.
- Responsible for analyzing/debugging daily production problems and support other users.
- IBM iSeries Query design/debugging support.
- Maintain technical skills by attending annual seminars and reading literature associated with job functions.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or relevant work experience.
