Schedule: Monday to Friday 6 am to 230 pm (may vary depending on customer deliveries). Rotating weekend shift for shuttling of product from plant to warehouse. Home everyday!
$500 retention bonus during first 6 months of employment
Summary:
The Local Truck Driver is a Class-A CDL position responsible for the safe and efficient transport of trailers of product between local WinCup facilities. Some customer deliveries may be required. Secondary responsibilities include loading trailers, pulling orders, receiving shipments, checking deliveries and performing other tasks assigned by the Warehouse Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
Functions:
- Class-A CDL shuttle driver transporting finished products of cups, containers, straws, and / or lids.
- Safely and efficiently transports trailers between local WinCup facilities for loading and unloading.
- Reviews the bill of lading for accuracy.
- Works closely with the Warehouse to ensure accuracy of orders
- Performs daily checks on equipment, tires, oil, fuel and lights and advises the appropriate leadership team of any defects to ensure safe and effective equipment.
- Works and drives in a safe manner and keeps equipment clean.
- Loads trailers, ensures optimum space utilization, and maintains accurate loading documents.
- Uses proper techniques when operating either a tractor trailer, clamp or fork lift truck to minimize damage to finished goods, persons, equipment and structures.
- Pulls and stages orders for shipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed and turned into the warehouse office prior to daily departure.
- Removes debris from trailer.
- Participates in Warehouse training and the training of new employees.
- Adheres to all good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Work an 8+ or 12+ hour shift while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, use hands to finger, grasp with hands and arms, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and lifting throughout the entire shift. Riding and sitting in a shuttle truck. Riding or standing on a moving forklift.
- Requires the manual movement of objects or containers that may weight up to 30 pounds. Requires manual carrying objects or containers up to 20 pounds a maximum distance of 100 yards.
Working Conditions:
- Exposed to extreme heat. In-doors in a manufacturing / warehouse environment that is not air conditioned.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- Wear PPE while working in warehouse, which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- Able to work weekdays, weekends and overtime. Work an 8+ or 12+ hour day shift
Qualifications:
Education – High School Diploma or GED preferred. Must have a current unexpired CDL license
Experience – Must be able to pass all DOT required Truck Driver pre-screenings. Must know how to drive and is certified to operate a tractor trailer truck and forklift. Must have a clear and valid Motor Vehicle Report. One year in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Skills – Basic mathematical skills. Must be able to effectively communicate in English both oral and written.
