Job Details:

SUMMARY: Performing as part of a team that maintains and repairs machines in a production setting, including preventive maintenance and identifying solutions to better meet performance goals.

Hours: 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, Monday - Friday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

• Set up equipment or machines
• Adjust production machines and related equipment, according to maintenance schedule, manufacturer's service manuals and production tolerances
• Inspect machines and troubleshoot to detect potential malfunctions
• Replace repaired parts or install new parts to restore machine to operating condition
• Lubricate grease fittings and moving parts of machine and other preventive maintenance requirements as directed by supervisors
• Complete Preventive Maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
• Work within safety guidelines at all times
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
• Ability to learn new processes with minimal supervision
• Basic knowledge of electrical motors
• Ability to troubleshoot a variety of machines
• General knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, compressed air and welding
• Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner
• Understand and follow oral and written direction
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to perform duties listed on Mechanic Level I checklist
• Strong mechanical background required
• Must be at least 18yrs of age
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Education and/or Experience:

• Associates degree in Mechanics/Automotive or Electrical Technology preferred
• 6 month experience in Facility Maintenance and/or Automotive Mechanic

Communication Skills:

• Must be able to communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements / Environment:

• Stand/Walk: Continuously throughout shift
• Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally as required with assistance (up to 35-50 lbs.)
• Other Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (2-3 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
• Physical Environment: Continuously: Working around moving machinery, working in a damp, slippery and cold environment (Below 40° F) - working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor, some tight or confined space areas
