POSITION: Maintenance Technician Level III
Salinas California
$36.00 - $40.50 – Full Time
Summary Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all equipment to minimize downtime and keep the machines producing at a maximum level of efficiency by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Area of Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Practices safe work habits at all times.
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety lock out/tag out programs, zero energy procedures and maintaining good housekeeping.
Oversees all areas of manufacturing plant with main focus on machine diagnostics, downtime prevention, preventable maintenance opportunities, gear drives, machine reference and crew leadership.
Understands Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and what is required to keep it to a minimum. Maintains the machinery in order to allow machines to run at maximum capacity and speed.
Demonstrates ability to lead maintenance crew through process to remove/install, parallel all rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
Demonstrates knowledge of shaft locking devices, taper locks, ring fedders, set screw/key ways, eccentrics, bearing housings and associated clearances.
Exhibits ability to use programmable controllers to troubleshoot and repair associated electrical devices such as proximity sensors and solenoid valves. Understands differences between devices, sensors and applications for each.
Possesses capability to interpret and follow advanced electrical diagrams, follow a working drawing to remove/install AC/DC motor drives, starter contactors, relays and motor wiring.
Shows ability to match electrical requirements of a machine with correct sized wire, receptacles/plugs, switches and associated hardware.
Possesses hydraulic experience to perform upkeep to facility hydraulic systems, to troubleshoot valves, spools, solenoids and repair hoses.
Maintains shop area and shop supplies; grinding wheels, cutting wheels, mill tooling, welder/plasma tooling.
Demonstrates ability to teach other maintenance classifications all requirements and proper maintenance procedures.
Exhibits ability to use all aspects of the maintenance software program, CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
Ensures all work orders are thoroughly completed and that repairs and work are performed properly. Completes all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.
Follows corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
