SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


The purpose of this position is to install, maintain, and repair a variety of machinery and related equipment ensuring a safe working environment throughout the plant. This is an entry level maintenance position.


SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Troubleshoot equipment defects with the use of repair manuals, drawings, or manufacturers' specifications to determine logical approach to correct the problem.
  • Disassemble equipment to find & replace worn or damaged parts and reassemble.
  • Prepare a parts list after determining which parts need to be replaced.
  • Assist with relocation, installation and alignment of machines and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Mounts motors, transformers, disconnects & light fixtures according to diagram specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

EHS REQUIREMENTS:


  • Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the company’s TRIR goals.
  • Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
  • Complete, and actively participate in all the company’s Safety Skills training requirements



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Requires a High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and correspondence.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence as required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Minimum 12 months related repair and maintenance experience
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification
  • A combination of the above qualifications may also be considered



PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time as the task dictates.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of a plant or warehouse.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with occasional moving up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at area.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand and mechanical tools.
  • Must be able to safely mount and dismount from the back of a truck.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace.
  • Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have a valid Driver License
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Work environment is typically considered within a ELS location during normal or extended business hours. Work environment is a manufacturing plant and warehouse containing equipment with moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
