Day Maintenance Technician III
Attwood Corporation, a Brunswick Company, is the world's leading manufacturer of marine accessories for the boating industry, including a wide range of seating, hardware, fuel systems, navigational lighting, pumps, trolling motors and other electro-mechanical components.
This maintenance position is an opportunity for a highly motivated person who has the ability to drive manufacturing performance through the maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. The position will report within the Lowell, MI facility on second shift as a Maintenance Technician III.
Primary responsibilities for this position will include:
- Provide daily direction to the maintenance team including setting work schedules and expectations for project completion.
- Support the development and reporting of maintenance area key performance indicators to track progress to goals. Examples include standard response time, total downtime, etc
- Develop, identify and participate in training opportunities for all maintenance team members.
- Actively support the development, improvement and administration of of machine operator safety programs including controls, guarding, and Lock Out Tag Out.
- Upgrade and maintain equipment safety guards and other necessary safety devices.
- Repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including hydraulic, electrical, pneumantic, and mechanical systems.
- Actively support the development and integration of CMMS. Provide improvement feedback for PM content and frequency. Schedule and record performed work through the CMMS.
- Develop relationships with outside service vendors. Support scheduling of work as needed.
- Driving continuous improvement through trouble shooting and analysis of equipment and processes.
- Performing preventive maintenance as part of Attwood's Total Preventive Maintenance program.
- Participation in product launches, including fixture and cell design consultation.
- Alter, poke-yoke, and repair equipment / fixtures for manufacturing and distribution operations when needed
- Report out regularly on status of open projects.
Preferred qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED required. GRCC's "Industrial Maintenance Certificate" or equivalent is preferred.
- 5+ years prior electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, conveyors work experience or combination of education and training required.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills to diagnose and resolve machine/equipment root cause issues.
- Experience with and commitment to lockout/tagout, confied space, elevated surfaces, hot work permits, and other industrial maintenance safety programs.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Background in Lean Mfg is desired.
- Prior hilo experience is preferred.
- PLC and HMI programming proficiency is desired.
- Experience with MS Office preferred.
