Maintenance Technician Class I
- Maintenance class I is an entry-level position within the maintenance department.
- Under the supervision and direction of the Maintenance Manager the duties of the Maintenance Technician Class I will include but are not limited to:
- Lubricate and perform preventative maintenance as required on packaging and processing equipment.
- Perform filter changes on facility HVAC equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical and facility repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Assist other technicians with equipment repairs, installations, and rebuilds.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs when required.
- Perform basic boiler operator duties as directed.
- Conduct facility rounds as directed.
- Perform various duties associated with the facilities wastewater treatment facility. 1 or 2
- Perform general cleaning and yard maintenance of buildings and grounds. (snow removal, salting, picking up trash around the facility, drains & gutters, etc.)
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous industrial maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Possess the ability to use tools such as common hand and power tools, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
- Must supply own hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Ability to lift 80 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work various shifts and weekends.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must hold a valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license.
- The desired candidate will demonstrate a willingness to expand their maintenance skills through experience and training. Both in-house and external training.
- Show a willingness to advance to higher job classifications within the department by demonstrating skill, initiative, and ability.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must strictly adhere to all company employee & food safety rules and policies.
- Comply and strictly adhere to all applicable OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry Regulations.
- Punctuality and reliability will be key factors to advancement.
- Perform all duties assigned by management.
- Respond to immediate repairs in a timely manner.
- Support the facility's food safety & quality programs.
