Summary Description:

The Manager, Production and Capacity Planning is responsible for overseeing capacity, production planning to meet customer demand and maintaining customer fill rate target while maintaining inventory targets. This person will manage the team responsible scheduling daily production for a manufacturing department to support customer demand for our growing business. This includes analysis of finished goods monthly production plan, Kanban signals, inventory levels, customer orders, production capacity, and material availability. This person will interact with the sourcing, manufacturing, forecasting, finance, sales, and operations departments.

Duties:
  • Capacity Management
    • Monitor capacity to ensure constraints are identified proactively and resolved in collaboration with manufacturing leadership team and production planning team.
      • Understand capacity limitations and incorporate into the Planning Process.
    • Ensure that all areas of manufacturing involved in the production process have a clear understanding of weekly production output requirements.
    • Create a rolling 6–12-month Production Plan that supports inventory requirements for each SKU.
    • Lead the monthly Production Meeting to identify Demand/Supply gaps and devise solutions.
    • Drive adherence to the Plan in Operations.
  • Production Planning Management
    • Lead planning team responsible for the creation of the weekly production schedules.
      • Individual will also own planning for assigned lines and serve as a back-up for planners as needed.
    • Provides oversight of adherence to inventory targets and customer fill rate targets.
    • Oversight of planner scorecard and management reporting.
    • Support successful launch of new products while mitigating risk and exposure.
    • Achieve and maintain customer fill rate of over 98%.
    • Oversee management of supply constraints for minimal customer disruption and with ongoing communication across the organization.
  • General
    • Create and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and personnel requirements. Implementing change with a continuous improvement mindset.
    • Manages integrity of data in ERP.
    • Defines, implements, and holds team to KPI’s.
    • Develops team to full potential and drives accountability.
    • Develops and implements continuous improvement strategies, processes, and controls.
    • Must have the ability to construct logical, business-based arguments supporting Scheduling decisions.

Qualifications


Education:
  • BA or equivalent experience

 

Experience:

  • 7-10 years progressive experience in supply chain and inventory management
  • ERP experience – Oracle experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Excel
  • APICS Certification a plus
