Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) provides energy industry solutions – new equipment, retrofits, maintenance, outage planning and more – for current and future power generation needs in the Americas, including thermal, hydro and nuclear power plants.
We are seeking a dependable, energetic Material Handler – Raw Materials for first shift to work out of our West Allis, WI facility. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining raw and finished materials inventory within shipping and receiving, moving finished goods and raw materials in and out of the warehouse as needed; delivering materials and supplies; and staging product. This position is also responsible for operation and maintenance of the saw for raw materials.
Essential Duties
- Working from instructions, cuts bar stock in accordance with dimensional data on manufacturing work order.
- Responsible for basic saw machine set-up and maintenance, including cleaning, lube, and fluid levels.
- Marks identifying data on cut pieces, and transfers cut pieces to proper location.
- Off-load stock from delivery vehicle utilizing forklift and/or overhead crane.
- Stores bar stock in proper locations.
- Performs inventory transactions in shop management system
- Perform weekly cycle counts of raw materials (bar stock and forgings)
- Perform vendor and/or warehouse deliveries and pickups as required
- Assist shipping and receiving as needed
- Maintains clean, safe working environment
- Maintain productive working relationships with all levels of employees, suppliers and customers
- Maintain and work within safety rules and regulations as established by Company, OSHA, and facilities
- Performs other duties and activities as directed
Education and Required Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing, industrial construction, utilities, warehouse environment
- Ability to operate various machining, cutting tools and related equipment
- Must have a mechanical aptitude
- Requires attention to detail
- Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane safely
- Ability to use measuring devices with skills in quality control
- Requires basic mathematical knowledge
- Must have good communication skills
- Knowledge of different hand tools and proper use
- Basic computer skills
Certifications and Licenses
- Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Must have ability to obtain Forklift Certification and Crane Operation

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and rarely toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold and wet, humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
