SUMMARY 

Provides support to materials and manufacturing departments to ensure that the product is built in accordance with customer specifications, while maintaining production flow and following company procedures.  Maintains company and customer materials records, documentation and other related technical data by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Reviews all documentation related to product quality such as test procedures, operating instructions, visual aids and process procedures to ensure compliance to customer.

 

Initiates Engineering Change Requests for any change in process, workstation, and inspection procedures. 

 

Develops and maintains FMEA, DCP, and Process Flow Diagrams for all FQR products.

 

Develops and maintains ISR documentation to meet customer requirements.

 

Aids in the development of in-house materials specifications as directed by the customer.

 

Conducts or assists in evaluations to resolve production problems relating to parts or process.

 

Participates in the review of customer or contractual documentation to identify and ensure fulfillment of requirements.

 

Conducts cost reduction and process improvement evaluations.

 

Assists with in-plant training of personnel to include principles of operation and manufacturing process.

 

Provide technical support to employee involvement teams.

 

Develops documentation required by materials to efficiently manufacture products in compliance with customer requirements.

 

Recommends measures to improve production methods, materials qualification and quality of product.

 

Responsible for compliance to the policies, procedures, and instructions of the QS 9000 and MS 9000 systems.

 

Special projects, as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
