Job Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment. Work with machinery as business needs and specialize in installing heavy equipment.
Ability to assemble new machines and replace worn parts.
Operate hoists, power jacks, power tools, forklift, man lift, scissor lift, sky track, and other rigging devices.
Perform routine inspections, breakdown machines, and housekeeping.
Perform routine scheduled maintenance, as well as repairing broken or malfunctioning machines.
Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures, to assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery and equipment, using hand and power tools, and to direct workers engaged in such endeavors.
Move, assemble, and install machinery and equipment such as shafting, precision bearings, gearboxes, motors, mechanical clutches, conveyors, and tram rails, using hoists, pulleys, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
Involvement in routine tasks, such as lubrication of machinery, bearing replacement, seal replacement, cleaning of parts during an overhaul, and preventive maintenance.
Perform all duties of a general laborer, pipefitter, carpenter, welder, and oxyacetylene cutter.
Other duties as assigned; specific job duties will often vary from day to day depending on business needs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience or equivalent training preferred; experience and skill that includes welding, mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics, plumbing.
Safety, health, and environmental awareness.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to communicate with others in a professional manner.
