Position Title: Mine Supervisor

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical training of direct reports
  • Communication with Mine team
  • Performance measures for the team
  • Team safety action plan and performance
  • MSHA rules and regulations
  • Administrative responsibilities (Timecards, OT, vacation approval)
  • Work notification planning (manpower, parts)
  • Crew tool and supply budget
  • Conflict resolution
  • Team development and crew training
  • Cost savings and efficiency improvement projects
  • Crew performance
  • Work area inspections
  • Fireboss mine
  • Warranty and repairable parts
  • Permissibility checklists
  • Right the First Time

Activities:

  • Coordinate manpower requirements in the area
  • Coordinate crew for work assignments
  • Conduct safety and housekeeping audits / behavior audits
  • Perform administrative tasks (timecards, OT, vacation approval)
  • Work weekend and holiday duty as assigned
  • Support planning meetings
  • Serve as a technical resource for the crews
  • Facilitate team communication
  • Respond to grievances
  • Administer discipline
  • Make inspections of working area – i.e., ventilation / ground control
  • Fireboss mine
  • Conduct safety and housekeeping audits / behavior audits
  • Ensure warehouse is stocked appropriately (min/max)
  • Coordinate manpower and supplies for large outages
  • Maintain knowledge of MITS
  • Can rotate from one mine business area to another mine business area
  • Support Responsible Care program

Skill, Capability, and Educational Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED and 3 years in underground mining or maintenance operations
  • Currently holds or can obtain within one year Wyoming Mine Foreman papers – Trona
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • MITS/MARS/Excel skills preferred

Final determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership consistent with the skills matrix and considering the candidates education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership, and influence.
