Job Responsibilities of the NDT -Wet Brake Mechanic /Technician:
* Maintain safe, secure, and healthy machinist environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential concerns
* Ensure precision equipment is maintained by following scheduled maintenance plan, keeping tools clean, calibrated, and placed in a secure location
* Inspect unit parts by visually examining parts for scratches, deformities and using precision measuring equipment to check tolerance according to the original equipment
* Move parts by operating overhead cranes, scissor lifts, carts, and dollies
* Determine assemble/disassemble process by reading and understanding instructions in the Parts Manual and following drawing and schematics
* Perform assembly/disassembly tasks by using tools, gas torch, welders, hydraulic rams, presses, electric and pneumatic Rad wrenches, ½ to 1 inch drive pneumatic impact wrenches and various high speed air tools
* Prepare part for wash by matching brass plate to work order, disassembling final drive, placing parts into basket, and conferring with form truck driver to deliver unit to wash area
* Clean parts by placing part into safely clean tank using solvent brush to remove excess dirt/grim and blowing of excess moisture/dirt
* Ensure mating parts are compatible by checking tolerances for proper fit
* Inspect parts received from wash area by examining bearing bores, wheels, gears, shaft bores, carries, dimensions, and on the seal services
* Properly complete the appropriate inspection documentation
* Document parts that are needed using the part number
* Able to identify part by product number used by Brake Supply and compare to corresponding work order
* Prepare part for outside vendor or in house machine shop by tagging, completing the appropriate RV forms of the machine shop work order and contacting fork truck driver to transport to staging area for pick up
* Determine assemble/disassemble process by reading and understanding instructions in the Parts Manual and following drawing and schematics
* Visually inspect all used and new parts during assembly to ensure a quality rebuild
* Finalize wet brake final drive process by forwarding to Test Room
* Perform more duties as assigned

Job Requirements of the NDT Wet Brake Mechanic / Technician:
* High school diploma or GED required
*NDT Experience preferred
* At least one year experience recommended
* Have excellent organization skills
* Handle rush orders as the need arises and have flexibility to change routines
* Demonstrate accuracy in working with detail
* Interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Effectively share information in one-on-one and small group situations
* Apply common sense understanding to carry out oral and written instructions
* Have ability to deal with problems in standardized situations
* Have ability to multitask
* Begin and complete a project with moderate supervision
