TPI also provides a full range of services that can complement our customers’ extensive vehicle engineering capability. TPI maintains fully accredited materials test laboratories in the USA and China to support material characterization, process optimization, and ensure production quality and traceability. 

In support of our automotive composites products manufacturing operations, the Operational Excellence Facilitator coordinates and supports deployment of Lean/Six Sigma principles and programs within the plant site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with plant leaders and associates in deploying the implementation of Lean processes
  • Compile defined metrics and report regularly to plant leadership
  • Coordinate staff, management, and leadership education of Lean practices 
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of Lean methodology, principles and tools incorporated into daily work. 
  • Assist with organizational needs assessment, development of program plans, goals and objectives regarding Lean implementation. 
  • Coordinate project plans to meet project deadlines
  • Facilitate the maintenance of a working environment conducive to positive morale, teamwork, creativity, and success.
  • Lead Kaizen activities and coach teams on visual boards, standard work, problem solving methods, and other tools
  • Monitor and report progress of projects through established metrics for projects 
  • Provide regular oral or written feedback to leadership
  • Promote knowledge sharing and use of global best practices within the site

Who we’re looking for:

  • Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 2 years’ prior Lean facilitation experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lean certification, and/or experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. 
  • Poise, tact and diplomacy. Work involves mobility, speaking, listening, observing and the use of technology. 
  • Practical experience in applying Lean and / or Six Sigma. 
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and disciplines and be a dedicated team player.
  • Excellent English skills – both orally and in writing.
  • Experience using MS Office applications
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment

This position is based at our automotive composites products manufacturing plant in Warren, Rhode Island.
