Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking a highly organized and efficient Paralegal responsible for managing and protecting our valuable intellectual property (IP) assets, as well as enhancing the organization and efficiency of our Legal department. Key responsibilities include contract review and organization, IP docketing, creating and maintaining corporate records for our subsidiaries, and managing IP-related agreements.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the intellectual property docket, including the timely filing of patent, trademark, and copyright applications, and monitoring deadlines

  • Work closely with inventors and outside counsel to develop and manage our patent portfolio

  • Assist in the management of IP litigation and prosecution matters, including tracking deadlines, preparing documents, and communicating with outside counsel

  • Assist in the preparation and review of contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, and customer contracts

  • Organize and maintain corporate contracts, including tracking expiration dates, renewals, and amendments

  • Assist with the formation and maintenance of corporate entities, including drafting organizational documents, maintaining minute books, and filing annual reports

  • Provide support for corporate governance matters, including preparing board and committee materials and drafting resolutions

  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a Corporate Legal Department or law firm

  • Strong knowledge of patent, trademark, and copyright laws, as well as trade secret and confidential information protection

  • Experience with contract review and organization, IP docketing, patent portfolio management, and IP-related agreements

  • Knowledge of corporate governance principles and practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases

  • Ability to travel up to 10% required

  • Ability to occasionally carry and lift up to 15 pounds
