We have a General Manager opportunity to manage our Parts operations for all of Alaska.
About the Position:
The General Manager, Parts is a unique opportunity to manage the parts operations working directly with Parts staff at our branches in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Wasilla, Dutch Harbor, Juneau and Prudhoe Bay.
This position reports directly to Product Support and is a key member of the management team in Alaska. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Achieve targeted Sales to End User goals and continue to grow parts year over year.
- Manage performance metrics for all branch locations.
- Execute the inventory plan based on historical trends and future parts sales activities.
- Lead all programs and processes to ensure Parts availability and delivery.
- Submit operational budgets and manage department costs within established guidelines
- Responsible for handling customer parts inquiries including resolving customer complaints/issues.
- Responsible for customer satisfaction for all parts encounters with customers.
- Ensure a safe work environment and ensure that all department employees understand and follow all safety policies and practices.
- Manage and complete all parts ordering for region.
- Maintain close working relationships with Caterpillar and other major suppliers.
- Advise the Parts Department on sales and service opportunities,
- Ability to understand budgets, analyze branch financial data, and maintain operational metrics.
- Demonstrate a high level of teamwork with Service and Sales departments.
- Ability to direct and delegate staff and establish and maintain accountability.
Personal Attributes, Experience, and Education:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of operational experience with 3-5 years of managerial and supervisory skill building. Previous CAT experience is a plus. Ability to positively motivate staff.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to quickly become familiar with dealer parts and business processes.
- Communicate positively and effectively and build rapport with customers and colleagues at multiple levels in the organization.
- Required to travel periodically to our Alaska branches.
