Job Title: Placement Coordinator

Department: Focus: HOPE Workforce Development and Education

Reports To: Placement and Retention Services Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt


General Statement of Duties:

Provide career development and placement services for WDE students during the training cycle and upon completion of program requirements. Decisions made in accordance with established policies, standards, and practices.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling related to career and career skills development.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues, students, and local employer partners to develop jobs and maintain the integrity of the Workforce Development and Education programs.
  • Analyze occupational data, such as physical, mental, and training requirements to successfully match student abilities with job requirements.
  • Coach and prepare candidates for interviews and entry into the workforce
  • Facilitate Employment Readiness Workshops
  • Organize and execute industry and employer events
  • Generate job leads and employers’ interested in applicants
  • Maintain appropriate files, records, and follow-ups to determine graduates’ job retention rates and career progress as well as suitability of colleagues.
  • Participate in professional organizations and professional development training opportunities.
  • Act as liaison to Focus: HOPE Human Resources for internal job opportunities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:

  • Perform duties under the supervision of Placement and Retention Services Manager

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training plus related experience as a job developer/employment counselor.
