Job Description

Ingram Barge is looking to add a Production Safety Liaison to join the team, and float between facilities: Engineering Landing (Paducah), Metropolis, IL, and Columbus, KY. This position will provide technical expertise in safety, health, security, as well as environmental and regulatory compliance for Ingram Marine Group. This is a hybrid role supporting Barge Maintenance & Repair and Engineering and will require coordinating efforts for all safety activities at Ingram production facilities with the Safety, Training, and Environmental (ST&E) department.

What you will be doing:
 
  • Providing support and oversight during regulatory inspections, audits, and post incidents visits by various regulatory agencies or other entities (USCG, DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Compliance auditing, as well as incident investigations for Ingram production and engineering facilities
  • Assisting with the update/Implementation/auditing/knowledge of plans/permits for Ingram production and engineering facilities
  • Policies and procedures creation/update/knowledge
  • Conducting, assisting, and managing site drills or exercises required by plans/permits for production and engineering facilities
  • Supporting and leading various research and development safety initiatives as they arise
  • Supporting department activities with regular and prompt attendance
  • Ensuring all work being done at Ingram production and engineering facilities are up to Ingram/OSHA safety standards
  • Leading/participating in monthly safety meetings, daily SLAM sessions, near misses, observation audits, safety contacts, monthly self-audits, and annual facility audits
  • Ensuring production and engineering facilities are operating according to site specific SPCC plan
  • Keeping site specific documentation up to date
  • Perform continuous walk around inspections at Ingram production and engineering facilities

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Safety/OSHA degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of safety professional experience required
  • Production facility experience required; Shipyard experience preferred
  • Must have the physical ability to transit all work environments for vessel and facility docks
  • Technical knowledge of safety principles and concepts with the ability to apply these in the work environment
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Ingram safety policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety
  • Knowledge of EPA requirements as they pertain to facilities
