Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. Propulsion and Ordnance Engineering is a part of the Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and Controls (PSOC) directorate within FBM that facilitates boost rocket motor production and lifecycle management and handles the design, production support, test and sustainment of the missile explosive hardware.
We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable project engineer to join our organization. This position is for a Proposal Support Engineer that will support both the Propulsion and Ordnance organizations with LE (sustainment) and LE2 (modernization) proposals and efforts. This position requires collaboration and excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the Propulsion and Ordnance teams with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers which includes opportunities for career development along the way.
Currently, we are in active production and sustainment for several components. To support this work, we respond to annual proposals in order to estimate the scope of work required for these efforts. As a member of our team, you will support efforts in the generation of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs). You will also support the team with eventual negotiations and fact findings.

• Develop technical requirements
• Support a team in the development of multiple high profile proposals
• Contribute to new business trade studies
• Enhance cross discipline product development
• Participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development
• Be the technical interface to FBM management, systems engineering, subcontracts, suppliers, and our Navy counterparts.

Basic Qualifications
• Any combination of experience in: engineering project management, supplier management, annual budget proposals, technical evaluations, tracking and development of cost/schedule• Experience in proposals, preferably government proposals (BOEs, SOWs, supplier proposal evaluations)
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Desired skills
• Missile, propulsion, and/or ordnance related education or experience• Experience with FBM processes and products
• Experience with government contracting, funding, and proposal cycles
• Experience as a project lead
• Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative
• Active DoD Secret Clearance

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
