Job Description
Summary Statement:Applies expert and specialized knowledge to plan, direct, and coordinate the engineering design, integration, analysis and certification of company products and processes for manufacturing of complete aircraft parts, components, subsystems and complete systems for operational aircraft.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to complex and unusual problems that require considerable ingenuity and innovation to make substantial modification to policies and standards related to managing engineering projects in the areas of design or technology. Work is accomplished with only limited direction allowing considerable freedom to act.
Analyzes project objectives and requirements to determine feasibility, reducibility, cost, and production time. Discusses technical issues of the project with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel.
Evaluates product design for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications. Ensures engineering specifications, drawings and other technical documents are produced to standard engineering practices and regulatory requirements. Evaluates and approves design changes and drawing releases.
Assigns project personnel to specific aspects or phases of project such as analysis, development, or design. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions such as allocation of resources or changing contract specifications and technical solutions. Coordinates design, production, testing, and related activities.
Consults with project personnel and others to provide technical assistance and information.
Coordinates with Manufacturing, Marketing, Contracts, and Quality Assurance and other groups to ensure required engineering documentation is established and maintained for each project.
Creates and maintains budget and schedule tracking metrics and reports progress to Engineering management. Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and productivity issues. Works with the regulatory agencies or designees in creating compliance and other engineering reports.
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.

Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Bachelor level degree in appropriate engineering discipline, master level degree preferred, or equivalent and nine (9) plus year’s related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional Engineer Certification is desired.Level of Supervision Required:
The level of supervision required described here is representative of that which must be met by a Stakeholder to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Works under limited direction. Guidance as to objectives, critical issues and policy. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and methods.Communication and Special Skills:
- Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms.
- Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups.
- Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Competent in the use of design and project management software.
Special Training and Behavioral Competencies:
The following training requirements and competencies must be met before acceding to this job.- Professional Engineer Certification preferred.
- Safety training applicable to the job and work area.
- Complete the required NORDAM University training for all Stakeholders.

- Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
