TPI maintains fully accredited materials test laboratories in the USA and China to support material characterization, process optimization, and ensure production quality and traceability.
In support of our automotive composites products manufacturing operations, the Quality Engineer is responsible for the support of the organization in overall Quality Improvement, Corrective and Preventive Action / Root Cause resolution, new product qualifications, and ISO systems support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and manage quality requirements on Projects/Programs/Products according to contract requirements (e.g., specification, statement of work, PO, etc.) to ensure contractual compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Support the development and continual improvement of the IATF 16949 Management Quality System
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement kaizens, CAPAs and other strategic improvement projects
- Originate Quality Control Plans per the AIAG Template
- Ability and skill set to perform and consult on statistical analysis and techniques
- Coordinate/Chair Project/Product nonconformance reporting and MRB (Material Review Board)
- Participate and support Product Design Teams for product quality and to lead the use of quality tools (e.g., FMEA, QFD, etc.) when needed and required
- Provide Quality Training for quality awareness, QMS processes, and quality tools
Who we’re looking for:
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a Manufacturing environment
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required
- Direct experience with ITAF 16949, ISO 9001 Quality Systems
- Direct experience with Lean Manufacturing, TQM and/or Six Sigma
- Direct hands-on Experience with automotive and transportation industry
- ASQ Member and Certification as CQE preferred; CQA desirable
- Proficient in Quality Engineering Tools and Methods
- Ability to lead and motivate teams
- Proficient in MS applications
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment

- This position is based at our automotive composites products manufacturing plant in Warren, Rhode Island.
