Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Secure Communications Technician to install and maintain encryption devices on Kirtland AFB to include SKL, TACLANE Network Encryptors, Secteras, vIPers, STEs, OMNIs, and Iridiums.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain secure voice and data networks through the programming, installation, testing, operation, and Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) of secure communication equipment.  Work from customer submitted work orders.  Coordinate with the customer to ensure the required services are installed and operational.  Regular scheduled and unscheduled pickup of COMSEC materials, daily inventory and annual rekeying of encryption devices.  Document installations by labeling encryption equipment, patch cables, and recording configuration diagrams.  Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in communications and networking.  Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II).  Must have TACLANE Encryptor training.  Must have a strong background in network support.  Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, meet with the customer tactfully and courteously and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with customers and coworkers.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
