Job purpose
Amprod, a rapidly growing company with two divisions, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial records of the organization, ensuring their accuracy and integrity. Your role will involve conducting thorough financial analyses, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and providing valuable accounting support to various departments. Collaborating closely with the Controller and/or CFO, you will contribute to the overall financial health of the organization by implementing effective accounting practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform GL account reconciliations and monthly analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Record and maintain financial transactions in the company's accounting system. This includes keeping track of all expenses, income, and other financial activities.
- Reconcile bank statements to ensure that all transactions are accounted for and that there are no discrepancies.
- Conduct financial analysis to help the company understand its financial position, identify areas of improvement, and develop strategies for growth.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This includes maintaining accurate records, preparing financial statements, and filing tax returns.
- Provide accounting support to the organization. This may include answering questions about financial transactions, providing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and potential areas of risk.
- Support Controller in preparing information required for third party audits.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
- Associate's degree with adequate experience will also be considered.
- Prior experience in public accounting (preferred).
- CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience with the use of ERP software, Syteline preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing industry (preferred).
- Previous experience in accounting or finance role (preferred).
- Candidates with previous experience in cost accounting roles will stand out.
