If you are a Software Engineering professional with experience in cloud native and mobile development for the IoT space looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Reporting remotely into our Kennesaw, GA or Palm Beach Gardens, FL location, you will dive into infrastructure as necessary and have responsibility for the entire software lifecycle. The Senior Agile Software Engineer is someone who is passionate and enjoys developing code.

As a Senior Agile Software Engineer, YOU WILL:

  • Design and support scalable cloud native solutions with 24/7 uptime requirements using infrastructure as code paradigms
  • Develop automated behavioral and unit tests
  • Deploy code to production daily ensuring updates comply with security best practices and are easy to rollback
  • Develop APIs and back-end processes to work with websites, 3rd party partners, mobile applications, and IoT devices
  • Build user interfaces for web browsers and mobile devices
  • Mentor junior development staff, growing them in writing progressively more clean, more maintainable code every day, while promoting a positive work environment

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • 5 years’ experience in software development
  • 1-2 years of experience mentoring junior developers and a desire to grow in this area
  • Knows at least a couple languages well (C#, TypeScript, HTML, XAML, PowerShell, SQL, Java, Swift, etc.)
  • Experience developing and deploying software on a major cloud native platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Comfortable using automation for development, testing, and deployment of software products
  • Enjoys paired programming, and understands the scenarios where it can be helpful
  • Comfortable translating business requirements into a design
  • Has shipped at least one commercially used software product
  • Has some familiarity with operating systems other than their primary
  • Participates in product support (e.g. on call) independently
  • Has a decent approach between getting the job done vs technical debt
  • Understands agile development, could teach the ideas
  • Can explain and communicate technically complicated and abstract topics to business and product teams effectively
  • Willingness to put the needs of the team over their own
  • Willingness to experiment with development processes with an open mind
  • Ability to travel to one of our U.S. based locations once per quarter.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Has shipped multiple commercialized products
  • An expert in C#
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure e.g. design, development, deployment, scaling, securing, and monitoring
  • Experience with Angular, Xamarin
  • Experience in related fields, e.g. customer support or data science
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages
  • Has an interest in the business, e.g. product viability and marketing
  • Has a decent approach between getting the job done vs. technical debt
  • Experienced in Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours

This role has the flexibility of remote work and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 7:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers. You may work remotely from anywhere, but core hours will be determined by where the team is headquartered. You must be willing to travel up to 1 week per quarter for regular team meetups.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the base salary range for this role is $113,985 - $170,985 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role. About our Location
