The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Laser and Electro-Optical systems (LEOS) is looking for a skilled Senior Lead Electro-Optical Design Engineer (Level 5) to provide support to the development of our high performance Directed Energy and Electro-Optical Systems. This position will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the development of both directed energy and electro-optical systems. This position is located in Albuquerque, NM.

Position Responsibilities Include:
Develop and validate requirements for unique electro-optical, sensor, laser and other electromagnetic systems and components
Develop and validate electro-optical requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures
Develop architectures to integrate multiple systems into higher level systems and platforms
Lead development of trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around complex requirements
Lead design of complex electro-optical and laser systems.
Develop new and improved modeling and simulation techniques
Lead development and execution of critical tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
Manage appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues
Support project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews
Lead development of major sections of large-scale proposals to support development of new business
Work under consultative direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active DoD Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance or equivalent. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
10+ years of direct experience in electro-optical design and analysis using Zemax, CodeV or an equivalent software design package.
10+ years of Electro Optical experience (ex: producing specifications, tolerances, simulations, assembly, integration and test of fiber optic (F/O) sensors, systems and components, including sensors, lasers, fiber-optics, and telecommunications products)
5+ years of experience performing analysis on EO/IR systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience effectively communicating and collaborating on multi-discipline teams.
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range: 145,000 – 196,650
