We are looking for a proven GPS & Navigation Subject Matter Expert to join our Software Engineering team in El Segundo, California, a suburb of Los Angeles.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable software engineer with a recent track record of successfully developing real time embedded software for GPS Receivers. The ideal candidate will employ sound software development processes and have the skills listed below.

This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
• Developing embedded software utilizing C, C++, Ada or related languages (typically 10+ years’ experience)
• Architecting, developing, and integrating real time embedded software for GPS Receivers, including on target Hardware
• Experienced in implementing wireless communication systems in 5G, LTE, CDMA, or GPS
• Solid understanding of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of wireless communication systems or GPS
• Working knowledge of signal selection, acquisition and tracking, Position, Velocity, and Time (PVT) calculation, data demodulation, signal correction, jamming and spoofing or related applications
• Experienced as a Team Lead, Technical Lead, and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in fields of knowledge and expertise to other team members
• Developing software using Green Hills Integrity Real-time Operating Systems, board support package (BSP), Green Hills Multi IDE and/or Wind River VxWorks for C/C++ or equivalent development tools

Security Clearance:
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required within 1 year of employment
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with developing Radar Software Architecture, Signal processing or Data processing algorithms for wireless communication technology
• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, Static Code Analysis using Coverity, Unit Test using VectorCast, and Test-Driven Methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to produce robust, well-documented, production-quality code which includes conforming to design and coding standards, implementing error handling routines, etc.

The salary range for this role is 123,000 USD - 259,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
