We are seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer- C2 Systems to work in a hybrid position based out of Fulton, MD.
Primary Responsibilities:
Raytheon Solipsys is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies (RTX). Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD.
In this position, you will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert on challenging software development projects. You will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. This position resides in Fulton, MD, offering a flexible, hybrid role with some time required on-site in Fulton each month and the opportunity to work from home on other days.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
System requirements analysis, definition and management
System architecture design and trade studies
Technical Leadership of engineering development teams
Systems integration, functional and performance requirements
Required Experience:
Experience as lead systems engineer on a software development program.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Tactical Data Links message protocols such as Link 16
Experience with track filtering and track management techniques and algorithms
Experience with any of these systems: Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems, Satellites
Understand and apply commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil-Std-499B)
Experience with management tools such as DOORS or RequisitePro
Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) techniques, and the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the use of a system architecture management tool such as Sparx systems Enterprise Architect and Cameo
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and applying them as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
Adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriately address the intended audience
Experience working with standard MS Office product suite applications
Active security clearance is preferred
