Description
- Supervise the implementation of technical training values, policies and procedures within the section
- Contribute to the overall team effort and teamwork within the Technical Training department
- Consistently demonstrate leadership and teamwork qualities and behaviors that fully support and enhance the department’s ability to achieve its objectives and meet the Company’s employee development and systems implementation expectations
- Ensure that all competency based learning programs are professionally designed, evaluated and delivered/facilitated in a wide range of on and off the job situations in order to meet employee development needs and quality standards
- Ensure that section employees thoroughly understand and competently apply professionally accepted principles of adult learning so that all competency based programs delivered utilize these principles, giving learners maximum opportunity to learn and develop job competence
- Ensure that all delivery and assessment schedules are designed and implemented in such a way as to ensure that programs are delivered to meet section strategic targets and customer requirements
- Assist in the implementation of all aspects of the company learning management system
- Ensure all participant learning and assessment data/results are accurately recorded and reported so that participant records are consistently kept up-to-date and accurately recorded
- Seek and respond to customer learning and assessments requirements
- Provide customers with competent advice and support regarding the wide range of technical training services and products in order to assist technical training meet/exceed customer expectations
- Supervise a larger section of the technical training department; ensure that they deliver competency based learning and assessment services according to the department and section strategic plans, within budget constraints
- Assist in the Creation of the section’s annual Strategic Business Plan and Budget in consultation with the customers and the department Manager; ensure that this plan contains defined business improvement strategies and ensure that the section supports efforts to continually improve SHE performance and productivity
- Supervise a wide range of learning situations that vary from individual coaching to group delivery in both on and off job learning environments
- Ensure that all competency based learning and assessment materials and tools designed, created, and implemented within the section are correctly evaluated for their effectiveness
- Contribute to effective coaching of training administrators and instructional employees to reach the required level of competence and professionalism in order to be effective in their jobs and meet training quality and quantity targets
- Assist in the reviewing of employee development needs to deliver the required competency improvement targets
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of directly related experience, including supervisory or mid-level management experience; OR
- High School diploma or GED and ten (10) years of directly related experience, including supervisory or mid-level management experience; OR
- High School diploma or GED and Master Craftsman certification or license and seven (7) years of directly related experience, including supervisory experience

- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Compensation:
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $79,000-$109,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
