Collins Aerospace Air Combat Test & Training (ACTT) Engineering is responsible for engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of Air Combat Training systems and their integration into the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training Environment.

We are looking for an integrator to join our team. We make a training system for fighter jets that computes "kills" with math and never blows up anything. You will learn a lot and never be bored - team members will gain experience in multiple areas including networking messages, GPS, cryptography, and radios. If you love being hands-on and working on challenging problems with a great team, this position might be for you.

As a systems-level team, this team has opportunities for direct customer and end user interaction as well as coordination across subsystem teams and stakeholders. This position is onsite at our Cedar Rapids, IA location.

Primary Responsibilities:

This position will primarily focus on providing the following:

  • Deployment and test of software builds into the real system.

  • Troubleshooting networking and system configuration (TCP/IP, XML)

  • Getting hands-on and making things work (Linux, Python)

  • After training there may be customer support opportunities at various military sites

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have experience with at least one programming language.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Must have an active US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

  • Must be able to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python and networking (UDP and IPv4)

  • Experience with Linux / RHEL

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum

  • Experience with hardware, software, or systems level testing

  • Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers in person and through technology.
