Our Global Spectrum Dominance (GSD) business unit at Raytheon Intelligence & Space has an immediate opportunity for a part-time, temporary Senior Engineer. The ideal candidate will use their program and technical acumen in product technologies associated with complex technical capabilities to provide insightful lessons learned, strategies and know-how to grow their mentees day to day on some of the most technically and financially challenged programs. The individual is a recognized advocate and practitioner of robust design practices enabling rapid integration through application of test-centric design. They will mentor those responsible for steering requirement flow down and iterative error analyses supporting well defined test with cost-effective system integration and test environments. This hybrid position is based in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The candidate will Provide consulting, knowledge transfer and mentoring to junior engineers in Fire Control Radar, Communications, and Signal Processing

  • The candidate should Attend technical and program meetings identified by the Lead System Engineers on programs he supports and provide insight and technical expertise.

  • The candidate will be available to brainstorm technical and programmatic issues and solutions with their mentees; mentors will guide their mentees through decision making to provide insight and experienced based suggestions.

  • The candidate will form a partnership amongst mentors, engineering and program leadership; there will be monthly checkpoints with all stakeholders on what is working/etc and mutual agreements on any course corrections; if there are disagreements on path forward, concerns will be elevated to Engineering/Business Leadership.

  • Help with upcoming proposals, RFP responses, Systems Engineering guidance.

Qualifications you must have:

  • 20+ years of Defense industry background.

  • Published, patents, classified documentations

  • Proven expertise in signal processing

  • Solid understanding of Radar Measurement Models and Statistical Modeling

  • Knowledgeable in systems engineering, systems architecture, and IV&V engineering principles. Ability to work in a high paced, high demand laboratory and Production environment.

  • Mentoring and providing career development direction to junior engineers and Cross Product Teams

Qualifications we value:

  • Demonstrated technical leadership with new business capture/pursuit, including contribution and/or authoring of white papers, Request for Information (RFI) responses, and proposal Technical Volumes.

  • Hands on experience with airborne products by Raytheon Technologies

  • Strong Matlab skills

Education:

Typically requires a master's degree (MA, MS, MBA) in Engineering, Math, Physics or Sciences required. PhD strongly preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

This is a temporary position of an undetermined length.

The salary range for this role is $93.27 - 195.19; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training and key skills.
