Role Summary:
Due to internal promotion, we are recruiting for a Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) Lead to work within our Military Aftermarket function here at Collins Actuation Systems, Wolverhampton.
This critical role will suit an experienced SIOP Lead or SIOP Manager, or indeed a skilled and experienced Production Control, Material Control, Demand Planning or MP&L Manager or similar.
Your day-to-day job will include:
Ensuring compliance to and maturity of a monthly SIOP process aligned to corporate guidelines and integrated across the value-stream functions
Execution of demand management processes to ensure accurate spares and MRO forecasts are in place to drive material provisioning
Driving ownership and maturity for load and capacity planning processes for both labour and machine resources
Integrating with 3PL provider and campus central logistics to ensure alignment exists for material kit availability and shipping requirements against Production Control plans
Where material supply mismatches occur vs demand requirements, supporting supply-chain improvement or escalate material supply exceptions in a timely manner (internal and/or external)
On-time and right first-time input into financial, budgetary and strategic plan processes for sales, margin, hours and inventory
Experience of the inventory forecasting process and associated target setting for inventory and NITO
Generating and maintaining necessary SIOP and Materials Management KPI’s on a daily / weekly / monthly basis
Cross-functional collaboration, to synchronise SIOP and Materials Management with upstream and downstream processes
Your ideal Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Experience of SIOP and Production Control processes
Background experience in production / manufacturing
Advanced Excel skills
Experience using ERP Systems, preferably SAP
An understanding of lean techniques employed within a manufacturing environment
Strong customer focus, interpersonal and influencing skills
Resilient in the pursuit of good performance under pressure
Strong communicator who can operate across all levels of the organisation
Strong attention to detail
Your Essential experience:
Experience in generating accurate and achievable production plans aligned to overarching SIOP principles, material availability, production capacity and material kit availability, providing clear line of sight for material requirements
Experience of managing production plan escalations when a significant deviation from plan occurs, and manage the subsequent shortage reporting, recovery planning and communication with the customer
Experience of driving processes to ensure in-house machining and Supply-Chain understanding of material requirements is clear and synchronised with Production Control and SIOP requirements
Some Desirable skills:
Experience of continuous process improvement activity with a focus on removal of waste via QCPC and use of digitalised platforms where appropriate, to achieve desired CORE requirements for key processes
Experience of leading a team of professionals with a focus on performance management, development and succession planning activities to foster a high-performing culture
Experience with supporting Programmes teams with generation and management of departmental process
