Job Description:

The Site Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for leading and supporting the production teams daily in accuracy and adherence to Mars Quality and Food Safety systems and ensures all Quality checks are performed through the receiving and production process.

They are responsible for ensuring ingredients and product meets all Quality Specifications while complying with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and Hygiene requirements. This role Is responsible for overseeing on-site collection, labeling, analyzing, and recording of results related to raw materials, intermediate products, finished product, packaging materials, and other samples.

In addition, they will act as the site functional expert for all laboratory testing performed on-site as well as ensuring compliance to the Mars Laboratory Standard and Mars Quality Management Program Standard.

What are we looking for?
  • Two-year degree or equivalent laboratory experience (3-5 years) in a Science Field.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Quality Management Systems.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a quality laboratory function.

  • Possess experience and knowledge of basic laboratory operations such as weighing, titrating, and preparing volumetric solutions.

  • Attention to detail and good organization skills.

  • Have effective verbal and written communication skills.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Train, instruct and lead site lab technicians conducting physical and chemical tests including but not limited to pipettes, pH meter, water activity meter, NIR, Lateral Flow Device, and ELISA methods.

  • Interpret analytical method procedures and safety instructions using standard chemistry terms and measures.

  • Maintain all records of analytical testing and quality control lab documentation. Responsible for tracking, trend analysis, and other Quality Control related responsibilities.

  • Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including calibration of equipment. Ability to conduct limited Instrument troubleshooting and problem diagnosis. Ensure Lab participation in proficiency testing programs.

  • Ensure sampling raw materials from bulk trucks, big bags, and totes is completed according to Mars standards.

  • Work to ensure lab compliance to quality management system through training, documentations, quality records, and audits.
