The Opportunity

Assigned accounts for institutional distributors ~ 95 national/regional distributors with >$1B in adult/infant direct invoiced sales (>$505MM in end user sales) and hospital systems with warehouse distribution models for ~30 accounts with sales between $100 - $300MM Adult and infant direct invoiced sales. Institutional distributors represent a significant portion of end-user customer sales and have far-reaching implications for ANPD’s business. Role is focal point for development and execution of distribution agreement terms across multiple distributor segments as well as applicable hospital systems and other institutional customers interested in a self-distribution model. The individual is expected to ensure agreement terms align with divisional strategy and for providing insights and analytics to support strategy changes. The role manages strategic and tactical transactions at the account level to foster business partnerships in the distribution channel with accountability in the contract terms to minimize financial exposure for ANPD.

Working collaboratively with cross functional teams, including the Distributor Account Manager to successfully review program terms internally and externally as well as supporting external customer discussions is a key scope of this position. Must be creative in approach to developing business relationships with assigned account personnel. Must be able to analyze complex business opportunities and determine most profitable course for the assigned accounts and provide recommendations to leadership. Success or failure in this position will impact the future of the distributor relationships and ANPD’s institutional business effectiveness.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree required: BA, BS Business, Healthcare, Social Sciences, Liberal Arts

Required Skills:

This position requires the individual to be successful in cross functional team engagement to manage assigned accounts to create a positive customer experience. An aptitude to assume responsibility and understanding of the business market for the set of factors required to engage internal leadership as well as the external customer to negotiate contract terms and resolve issues is required for this role. The individual must have strong analytical, cognos/Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, negotiation, and conceptual skills as well as experience developing, analyzing, negotiating, engaging with legal, and executing contracts in the healthcare distribution field. This role requires a complete understanding of ANPD’s institutional business to successfully manage distributors, their agreements, and to participate in distribution program strategy development and execution. The individual must possess effective business and analytical skills; have excellent communication and written skills; be a self-motivated, team player; and demonstrate attributes and qualities which are representative of the company and career commitment to Abbott Nutrition. The individual will be headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
