Sr. Planning Manager, Global S&OP

Job Summary
Avantor is seeking a Sr. Planning Manager, Global S&OP to establish and oversee the sales and operating planning and supply chain planning strategy (2 – 5 years out) in alignment with the Avantor Vision, Mission, and Strategy and the long-range plan.

This role will be a full-time Virtual/Remote position with travel up to 25% (as needed). You will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership that expresses, models, and reinforces a culture of accountability, high performance, change leadership and empowerment!

What we’re looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, supply chain management or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of supply chain management, S&OP, forecasting and/or inventory management experience; Data-driven with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems and strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated senior level presence, relationship building skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with standard work creation, value stream mapping and other production system tools; Experience with ERP systems such as SAP; APICS certification

  • Develop and maintain S&OP best practices, policies and standard work
  • Identify areas for process improvement and develop solutions to strengthen S&OP processes
  • Coordinate and facilitate the monthly S&OP meetings to achieve the demand plan consensus including strategic, product, sales, and marketing activities as well as supply plan balance and constraints/gaps.
  • Design and lead the production control strategy and roadmap to proactively plan and schedule material/production, manage and optimize CMO relationship and materials movement to support business needs
  • Establish KPIs and leverage reporting and analytics to track progress and monitor success of the S&OP process
  • Support and coach demand and supply planning teams to deliver best in class process
  • Develop collaborative relationships with Sourcing, Customer Service, Product Category Managers, Asia Operations, EU Operations, and Customers to deliver integrated process
  • Be a genuine dual citizen of your team/function/business unit/the enterprise by working across boundaries, navigating complexities, and effectively interfacing with leaders across the organization
