Description

The Staff Accountant will support the monthly production of financial statements and related reconciliation of accounts.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Accountant in daily, monthly, and annual activities including the preparation of the journal entries for cash, fixed assets and other general ledger accounts and in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements

  • Assist annual audit, prepare schedules needed for auditors

  • Oversee 3rd party lease accounting (issue invoices, record and track payments, follow up with tenants as needed)

  • Perform daily credit card sweep posting and account reconciliation

  • Monitor web transactions, refund charges as necessary

  • Research, respond and track credit card disputes

  • Perform all Restaurant related accounting (daily sales recording, month end inventory adjustments, order deposit tracking)

  • Support AR and AP Associates, providing backup as needed

  • Monitor and research retail/Customer Care Center transaction issues

  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of fixed asset listing (CIP project monitoring, communication with BWC for asset entry in AK, fixed asset physical inventory, etc.)

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting and 3 years of accounting experience or the equivalent

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills

  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and various accounting software programs

  • Detail oriented with a proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to take ownership of projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer looking at a computer screen for long periods of time

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/DAX preferred
