Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide technical support to Kirtland AFB.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

Setup, configure, and manage servers in a Windows environment.  Perform server maintenance, patch management, and server builds.  Configure and maintain file and printer server permissions.  Perform general SAN maintenance including maintenance of firmware and software.  Monitor and manage Wing network activity and devices utilizing What's Up Gold.  Correct network deficiencies as identified by the Information Assurance office.  Configure and maintain unit-based Group Policy Objects.  Monitor and manage Microsoft Project server.  Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for users.  Work with users and technical teams to identify and resolve issues.  Perform Level III desktop support for Windows workstations.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in system administration for a Windows environment.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Must be Security+ certified (or hold equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT II).  Must be Microsoft certified or able to obtain within six months.  Experience with MS tools and technologies including Windows server and desktop software.  Familiarity with the installation, configuration, and support of applications.  Must have strong communications skills, attention to detail, and be able to relay technical information to a nontechnical audience.  Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
