Job Description

This position is with our Advanced Development Program (ADP), known as the historic Skunk Works, in Palmdale, CA. We are looking for world-class talent for this position to join the 75+ year tradition of creating advanced aircraft. The candidate will join an ADP effort as a Systems Engineer providing support across the entire product line including new and existing programs. The candidate will be part of a fast paced, dynamic environment exploring state of the art technical solutions that will include Agile and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

The selected candidate will provide systems engineering support, to include but not limited to requirements tracking, risk management, architecture evaluation, and Airworthiness for an ADP program. A qualified candidate will shatter silos by working across multiple disciplines, suppliers, and users to ensure all aspects of the project are covered with appropriate requirements, including conducting technical trade studies to determine requirements. Understanding of industry-standard requirement formulation, decomposition, flow-down, traceability, and metrics is important, as is the ability to work with functional experts and generate verification and validation plans for requirements. The selected candidate will be part of the Skunk Work’s Digital Transformation efforts, including implementing and applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) throughout the SE process. The selected candidate will work with senior engineers to understand the overall program and engineering execution.

A level 3 employee Typically has 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.

Basic Qualifications

- Background in / knowledge of Systems Engineering development lifecycle and associated processes.

- Final Secret Clearance investigation within the last 5 years.

- Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.

- Willingness to occasionally travel as required (Domestically and Internationally) to support program objectives.

Desired skills

Experience in Systems Engineering.

Experience with JIRA/Confluence.

Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.

INCOSE Certification.

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
