Chemours is seeking a Technical Service Manager to join our growing PTFE and Melts – Advanced Performance Materials team! This position will report directly to the Global Technology Manager of PTFE and Melts at our Newark, Delaware location.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Effectively manage a global team of scientists supporting customers to select and use Chemours products, support growth and sustainability programs, including setting and meeting strategic goals.
Resource and manage technical service, prototyping and development laboratories in America, Europe and China. Define, allocate, prioritize the resources and activities needed for success and manage budgets for global lab teams. Ensure teams maintain safe and organized laboratory spaces, complying with all site and corporate policies.
Work with product, commercial and marketing teams to meet technical goals that will support the commercial team to meet Chemours business objectives in alignment with Chemours values.
Collaborate across technology teams and regional labs as needed to align with R&D, manufacturing technology, sustainability, commercial, stewardship and regulatory teams on key projects and initiatives.
Travel to key customers and end-users to understand developments in the markets/industries and facilitate your team to create new and improved solutions for them.
The following is required for this role:
Masters or equivalent degree in a technical discipline; chemistry, engineering, polymer science
Demonstrated skill in leadership and team building
Experience in a technical role working with polymers/fluoroproduct materials, experience in mechanical testing, physical property testing, chemical analysis, polymer design/ modification, and processing technologies, i.e. extrusion (wire, tubing, film), compounding
Experience with Process Safety Management, SOPs, and safe handling of chemicals and materials
Strong interpersonal skills, language skills, presentation skills - both written and oral
Strong customer focus attitude with ability to travel domestically and globally as needed
The following is preferred for this role:
Ph.D. or equivalent in a technical discipline, such as chemistry, engineering, or polymer science
>5yrs experience in a technical role with fluoropolymers
Expertise in fluoropolymer extrusion, molding, processing and compounding
Working knowledge of industries where fluoropolymers are used (e.g. automotive, semicon, aerospace, chemical processing industry, energy, electronics, medical)
Experience in a customer facing technical support role in the plastics or fluoropolymer industry

Pay Range (in local currency):$120,064.00 - $187,600.00
Annual Bonus Target:14%
