Position Overview:
Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated & experienced Thermal Engineering Manager to support the St. Louis Design Center located in St. Louis, MO. The Design Center provides engineering talent for the F-15, F/A-18, T-7, and MQ-25 aircraft. The selected candidate will lead a team of Thermal Engineers supporting a wide portfolio of aerospace programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Work closely with other engineering managers and program managers to identify thermal engineer staffing requirements and implement hiring process to meet demand
Provide for the development and growth of the employees within the organization
Identify training requirements and assure opportunities are available to support the team’s development
Manages, develops and motivates engineering employees
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Drives team quality initiatives
Develops and carries out project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Coordinates with IT and other support team to ensure the continuity of engineering tools
Manages, develops and motivates employees.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in St. Louis
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
10+ years of experience in the aerospace industry
5+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Experience with computational modeling of aerospace thermal systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
10+ years of experience with aerospace cooling systems and/or thermal management
Experience with Fixed Wing Military or Weapons programs
Experience estimating DoD Engineering efforts

Summary pay range: $151,300 - $204,700
