SUMMARY

The entry level Trunnion Set-Up/Operator with a grade level of Lead is responsible for performing machine repairs, tool adjustments, set-ups, and troubleshooting tooling and machine issues. Effectively train other operators to perform their roles and responsibilities. Hold yourself and others to a high standard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Master the roles and responsibilities of grade levels A, B & C Trunnion Set-Up/Operator.
  • Safely and efficiently run and repair machines.
  • Perform minor and major machine repairs and complete machine set-up in allotted time.
  • Perform minor tool adjustments, work on major set-ups, and troubleshoot tooling and machine issues (except for electrical).
  • Train operators in their job responsibilities, Instruct on set-up operations, Windows, Tool change ect…
  • Leadman must be able to perform all major repairs and hold training classes for operators,
  • Assume role for all positions within the entire department including all machine operations.
  • Step in and lead shop when supervisor is out.
  • Create job order for maintenance repair.
  • Issue tooling from the tool crib.
  • Reassign personnel on a temporary basis and resolve machine related issues.
  • Suggest process improvements.
  • Check email daily for communications from shop manager and supervisors .
  • Record any Print, Layout, gage or tooling issues in the corrective action log.
  • Record any machine repairs in the Buffoli machine repair log.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of the functionality of machining equipment.
  • Ability to train others in their roles and responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 10 – 20 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be able to lift 20 – 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to easily grasp products and other materials.

Work Environment:

  • Climate-controlled, noisy environment.
  • Authorized access areas.
