Position Summary...
What you'll do...
As part of the Sam’s AI lab’s team, you will partner collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to build solutions which enables them take faster, more informed, and collaborative decision with powered data driven decision making in a reliable, repeatable, and scalable way.
  • Assists in providing guidance to small groups of two to three engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned.
  • Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, directions, examples, and timeline.
  • Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies).
  • Researching and identifying needed solutions; determining implementation designs; providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of associate's domain.
  • Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; developing solutions; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; and completing online documentation.
  • Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to produce high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, business, and user experience teams.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

About Team:
Our team collaborates with Sam’s AI Labs teams to build a highly functional ecosystem which will enable Sam’s AI technology to boost business with Automation and Simulation capabilities across the AI powered systems to take advantage of machine learning in taking faster and more efficient decisions.
What you'll do:
You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, testing and deployment of technical solutions to following AI powered data decision platforms which will enable features on Sam’s AI systems.
  • You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • You will need extensive understanding of BDD/TDD practices, code review and analysis techniques, and open-source agile testing frameworks.
  • You are part of a community and participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
  • You have a real passion for innovation! Any experience with JAVA/J2EE, Spring, Spring boot Microservices, Cloud Platforms like, GCP (Dataflow, Datastore, Cloud storage, PUB/SUB) and Deploying and automating infrastructure/applications on Azure and GCP
  • You have experience in overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
What you'll bring:
  • 3+ years of Strong Programming Skills in SQL, Python/JAVA/Scala
  • 3+ years experience working with software design and Java, Python and Javascript programming languages or identical languages.
  • 3+ years experience with software build management tools like Maven or Gradle or similar tools
  • 2+ years experience with software testing, performance, and quality engineering techniques and strategies or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years experience with Cloud technology: GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • 1+ years experience with HTML, CSS and frontend/web development or equivalent skills
What will set you apart:
  • Extensive knowledge on Micro Service Architecture, Event driven architectures
  • Familiarity with DBMS technology, including SQL, Oracle, MongoDB and MySQL and caching mechanisms such as Redis, Memcached and Varnish
  • Experience of working with Micro Service Architecture, Event driven architecture
  • Demonstrating experience with public cloud platforms like Google and Azure.
  • Focus on implementing monitoring, alerting alongside using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, service registry.
  • Knowledge on Kubernetes
