The Logistics/Transportation Strategic Value Stream Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for managing the relationships with our transportation partners via regular face-to-face meetings to improve delivery performance through collaboration. If there are structural delays, expect to analyze the root cause and implement corrective actions. Benchmarking transportation, tender initiatives, and rate negotiations will be regular activities to reduce transportation costs. Expect to develop a detailed understanding of the North American logistics market and lead initiatives that include both domestic and international logistics.


This position is part of the North American Logistics/Transportation department located in Hebron, KY, and will be a hybrid role. This position will report to the North American Logistics/Transportation Leader and will lead a team of 4-6 transportation analysts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Inspire, motivate and lead a team of transportation analysts to turn data into meaningful analysis to identify, develop, and execute strategic projects to improve logistical efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and improve delivery performance

  • Own and manage all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for all of Beckman Coulter’s carrier partners

  • Review, analyze, monitor, and manage transportation activity and freight spend to implement initiatives to enhance quality, improve service, reduce costs, and provide sustainability.

  • Manage the RFQ/RFP (Request for Quote/Proposal) process with all international/domestic carriers and freight forwarders

  • Develop and improve carrier standard operating procedures and service level agreements utilizing continuous improvement methodology, Kaizen methodology, Daily Management and Problem Solving

The essential requirements of this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years experience or Master’s degree with 7+ years experience

  • Experience in leading people/teams

  • 3+ years of relevant Logistics/Transportation experience

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

  • Experience working with different cultures

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience leading in a global environment

  • Knowledge and experience in multiple transport modes: Parcel (international and domestic), LTL, FTL, and International Air/Ocean; understanding of Transport Management Systems

  • Ability to speak an additional language
