Vehicle Systems Integration Lead – Lunar Transportation

As a step towards this vision, Blue Origin is building the next generation of lunar landers. As a member of the Vehicle System Integration and Analysis Team you are responsible for leading the assessment and definition of system level solutions for lunar lander as well as cross-functional trade studies. In this role you will report to the Vehicle System Integration and Analysis (SIA) manager, and you will be the SIA team's primary interface to the AI&T organization, assisting with resolution of issues found during execution of testing on the Vehicle Test Bed and on the Flight Vehicle. Your activities will span system-level test and integrated analyses and define interfaces that impact the design and integration of the spacecraft. Our success will require your excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead hardware/software system integration planning, support test planning and execution on the Vehicle Test Bed (VTB) and Integration and Test (I&T)

  • Technical Leadership at the team level; able to review the technical work of other system integrators, detect subtle flaws, and provide substantial design improvements

  • Lead failure investigations, anomaly resolution and test readiness

    • Review and assess verification artifacts (tests plans, test reports, analysis reports, inspection reports, etc)

    • Develop processes/standards to improve efficiency of design and verification and reduce errors

    • Guiding other system integrators to in leading their own failure investigations

  • Able to lead root cause assessment of complex system failures, completes requirements analysis, decomposition, and architecture of interconnected, integrated systems, and complex design

  • Drive requirements definitions and maturity through analysis, system budgets and coordination with subsystems

  • Coordinate constraints and conflicting requirements across multiple subject areas

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical subject area

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience integrating and testing space flight vehicle systems

  • Team leadership experience

  • Preference for and ability to thrive as a member of a small, tightly integrated team

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired (but not required):

  • M.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical subject area

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with the development and execution of a large-scale system integration and verification of autonomous spaceflight systems

  • Experience supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems

  • Experience with programming in C++ and/or Python, Simulink experience

  • Demonstrated configuration management experience

Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $125,481- $184,037
