Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Vice President of Product Development to lead and drive innovation in Nice North America. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the development and enhancement of our organization's cutting edge 2GIG product portfolio. The VP will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our company and contributing to advancements in our technology.
Salary range is $180,000 to $220,000 depending on experience.
Location: Carlsbad, CA – Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive product development strategy aligned with the company's vision, goals, and market demands.
- Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, operations, and quality, to drive product innovation, ensure product quality, and meet customer requirements.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team electrical, firmware, software, automated test, and systems engineering, as well as program managers and external engineering partners.
- Recruit, hire, train, manage, mentor, and develop research and development staff members.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Set clear goals and KPIs, establish performance metrics, and drive accountability.
- Establish and maintain effective software development methodologies, program management practices, and engineering tools, and processes to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Proven track record of successfully managing short-term and long-term strategic planning processes, budgets, and related operational responsibilities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, product management to understand customer requirements, gather feedback, and align product development efforts with market demands. Build strong relationships with key opinion leaders, industry experts, and strategic partners to leverage external expertise and foster collaborations.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure all products and applications adhere to our standards, quality assurance protocols, and industry best practices. Collaborate with the Quality team to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and obtain necessary approvals and certifications.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the product development budget. Optimize resource allocation, including personnel, infrastructure, and technology, to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Contribute to the overall intellectual property position of the company by aggressively encouraging and managing invention and patent applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering is required.
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in product/software engineering.
- Experience working with and in global engineering and product context.
- Results oriented with excellent analytical, strategic, business planning, communication, and teamwork/collaboration skills.
- Experience with wireless technologies including cellular operators.
- Strategic thinker who possesses both a solid business acumen and the ability to look beyond the current state and plan strategies that take into consideration the long-term business objectives and the external competitive and business environment.
- Ability to simplify complex ideas/concepts, synthesize and summarize a complex set of facts and opportunities within the broader strategic context.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas and lead others to accomplish challenging goals and objectives.
